Learn to braid hair using the particle system in Blender 2.6.There’s no text or video available for this, it was just a quick tutorial composited into an image showing some cool things you can do with particle settings. Enjoy! – Chris (blengine)

how do you edit the braid to lay flat against a character so that it does not stick out at weird angles

Has anyone figured out how to put a bow at the end?

I assume you mean for animating purposes? That’s a good question. I’m not sure how you’d go about making a bow move along with the dynamics of the hair particles, sorry. I’ll be doing hair dynamics research and experiments soon so when I figure that out I’ll post my findings. In the mean time you could ask around blenderartists.org, good luck!

I started playing around with it myself I was able to rig a curve guide with hooks and and parent a mesh to the hook objects check it out.

Sweet! See I’ve never heard of curve guides or hooks, that’s how inexperienced I am with curves and particles haha. Thanks for the info, it gives me a headstart on researching for the animation I’m working on.
