How do i change the name of the animations

  • Tema

Lee, can I animate parameters of the filters applied to my fcurves?
I all want is make motion (of camera) noisy in a certain period of time and the other time it must be calm.
When I try insert key in param “Scale” it remains the same all the time and not animation at all 🙁

  • Diego Michel

Thanks a lot for this tutorial.

  • Lee

Thanks all for the kind words!

Jannik: In the ‘action editor’ down the bottom of that window is the ‘header’, the long strip with buttons etc on it. You should see ‘Action.001’ or something similar, click here and you can type in a new animation.

Tema: You can change the perameters! It is new and needs a little optimization but you can get it to work well. After adding your noise, then ad a curve modifier called ‘envelopes’. Do some google searching on this (f-curve modifier envelopes) to find some more information on these. We used it to make a camera more and less shaky over time in Sintel! Hopefully this helps you.

  • Tema

    Lee, you are saint!
I don’t know what would I do without your prompt about Envelope modifier. It works not so intuitive, but it is very mightful. Working in Maya I couldn’t even imagine about such things. You saved a lot of my neurons.
Once I will earn as least 1 dollar with Blender – I will buy all your stuff.

Thank you very much for this overview of some of the animation tools in 2.5! It was highly informative and, actually, made me excited about using Blender. Prior to watching this video, my brain would not wrap around the concepts in Blender.

Your easy overview here really allowed the Blender workflow to “click” in my mind and I, again, wish to thank you for this overview. It was really illuminating.
